Alice feels- and looks- a little different after her fall down the rabbit hole. As in she's now a MARKETABLE LIMITED EDITION PLUSHIE YAYYYYY! There are only 10 DAYS LEFT to snag your very own Alice plushie to hug, drop-kick, or have watch over you with her dead, empty, blue eyes!
Had such a blast designing Alice with the people over at Youtooz- I was wondering how they'd translate her very 2d, cartoony look into a 3d form, but they did a great job capturing her emotionless stare and lady like lil outfit, complete with real black buttons and mini drink me bottle! This is the second character plushie I've made so far- the first being The Cat a few months ago- and now both of them sit in my bedroom, watching me sleep and scaring away my sleep paraylsis demon. DEATH AND THE HUMAN- my favorite part of HABROMANIA. You might have alredy seen the first 2 pages of the story in the habro demo, but I have a ton more done and this is probably my favorite thing releated to the story to draw because anything gothic and tragic is obviously going to be my favorite thing to make. Swipe for more art + a vampire portrait i made in a very different art style then I usually post here. I forget sometimes how much I love realism (sort of) portraits since I always draw so stylized. I'm always making HABROMANIA content about Alice or the Queen of Hearts so I figured it was about time to give y'all some Hatter content. He's my favorite character to write, can you tell I love sleezebag too-chatty salesman-type characters? Anyway out of everyone in the game I think he takes the cake for most unhinged- I don't even think he knows where he is half the time, much less WHO he is. Poor baby.

I have been wanting to make this video for a year but kept working on content for the video game (like backgrounds and cutscenes), but finally had some time this weekend to work on this. Took forever and I listened to the song on loop the entire time and never got sick of it.

ALICE and HATTER, her worst, only, and favorite traveling companion. Alice meets the Hatter in Act 1 of HABROMANIA and very quickly learns the man is genuinely unhinged- or "not all there", as the Cat very nicely puts it. Like Alice, Hatter's memories is full of holes, but unlike her he seems perfectly content with this. The only way she can drag him away from his never-ending tea-party is with promises he'll meet the Love of His Life, his Paramore, the Romeo to his Juliet- the Queen of Hearts. The man has a lot of Feelings, if it wasn't obvious.

Everyone loves a happy ending.
A cute little atmospheric animation of one of the possible endings for HABROMANIA. I have 4 (5, really) planned for now, and I consider them all canon. I don't love games that have a "true" ending, with the others just sort of throw-away ones you get if you don't explore enough or make the "correct" choices. I think each ending should fit thematically with the story and be a natural consequence of playstyle- even if they're bittersweet or unhappy, they should still feel satisfying. HABROMANIA isn't really a horror game in the obvious sense- it's mostly uncanny valley or liminal space vibes- but this ending leans the most into horror.

HABROMANIA Collectables sneak peeks + concept art! I knew when I was trying to figure out what sort of features to include in the game that we needed some collectables that could be found in the world or through player interactions with NPCS. With some of y'alls input, I decided on tarot cards associated with each character depending on their traits. Here's a few designs- I eventually want to make a full deck, but for now, Just working on them major arcana. There's also ripped-out pages of an old myth Alice can find scattered around Wonderland that tell the story of Death... probably not plot revelevant or important at all! This is actually the most surreal thing that has ever happened to me in the 21 years I've been alive. To see this game go from a little doodle I made in class to a full-fledged game with it's own OST and fanbase, made by a team of 13+ incredibly talented animators, artists, composers, and programmers, still doesn't feel real to me. Cordelia/Queen of Hearts outfit sheet! I haven't revamped her character model since like maybe a year and a half ago, so it was long due for some tweaking. As always I love trying to find ways to include heart motifs in her design and give her a sort of signature silhouette and face (with her big eyes and extra lashes and body frame). In HABROMANIA, you'll only see her in the last two outfits (her queen fits), but if I ever release a DLC prequel or something you'd play as her and get to see all of them. Speaking of the game, I just got verified to finally open the steam page, so I'll be working on that this week and hopefully have the page up for wishlists sometime next week! thank yall so much for your patience and support and in the meantime I hope you enjoy the habro content here.

Ophelia/Cordelia painting because I loveeeee a good tragedy and I was feeling inspired to do a more detailed, rendered piece (bc I've been doing a lot of animation and very styled stuff recently). Some animation stuff + game UI bts for HABROMANIA (the Alice in wonderland indie game I'm working on if ur new here!) HABROMANIA is sort of a horror game but also not really? I've always thought of it more like over the garden wall or coraline type vibes- I wanted most of the horror to be more of the uneasy, dreamy kind that liminal spaces have. It's kinda fun adding in subtle little spooky tropes to the game, though.

I've been working like a dog on this project for the past year and I'm really really happy with how it's turning out and moreso thankful for y'all patience and support. The incomparable Queen of Hearts from HABROMANIA! Cordelia was my favorite Alice in Wonderland character to redesign, and her backstory was also my favorite to write! You will all be very surprised and shocked to discover I love a good girl villain with a tragic backstory, seeing as about 90% of what I draw falls in that category. I felt a lot of freedom in designing her. I stuck with red and white, red being not just only her iconic color but also symbolizing anger, love, passion, and violence. White symbolizes purity, innocence, and virtue, because she's so certain of her own moral superiority and because white is usually a color the protagonist or good guy wears and I wanted to subvert that! (Her eye color prior to Wonderland- blue- symbolizes freedom, and the green symbolizes death and envy.) I can not understate how cool it is to see one of my characters come to life in plushie form. Like it's surreal and a childhood dream come true. This is how little man looks like after a few prototypes and going back and forth on designs- I wanted him to be as game-accurate as possible while still being huggable and cute and perfect. RIP their relationship but anyway here is a small collection of moments between them before everything went Very Bad and Terrible! The Rosewell Institute is a surprisingly cozy place, if you set aside the experimental treatments and the whole "no bodily autonomy" thing. Cordelia has the queen suite, completely refurbished by her father to suit her (very fine and expensive) tastes. Of course, Charlie isn't allowed anywhere near it- Cordelia's father absolutely does not want his daughter to fraternize with the nutcases the government didn't let him kick out of the institute when he bought and gentrified the whole thing- but Cordelia's been here long enough she's gotten pretty good at sneaking in and out of rooms in the building.

Alice, Alice, and Alice! Featuring Disney Alice, HABROMANIA Alice, and Alice Lidell!
Since starting development on HABROMANIA Alice in Wonderland-related media has consumed my life completely. I always love seeing different interpretations of the source material. The Disney Alice is the one I grew up with and was most familiar with. I have never played Alice Madness returns, but everyone keeps recommending it and it's such a cool horror-y take on the concept. I think my Alice falls somewhere in the middle of the creepiness scale - it's not as blood and guts as the Alice Game series is but it's not as goofy and bright as the Disney version. I think mine is a little more uncanny valley horror, in that same, slightly off-putting way the Over the Garden Wall series is horror. I am such a sucker for tragic villains- MY GIRL DID NOTHING WRONG (except attempt to behead a few dozen people)! Anyway, I have not been shy that the Queen of Hearts is my favorite character from HABROMANIA (the Alice in Wonderland Indie game in development- check out my page for more info!). While I was designing her character, I was trying to make her look like she could be the protagonist... and she usually wears all white bc she thinks she always has the moral high ground (and bc red stands out great on white!) Also sneek peek into the final confrontation between her and Alice- since this game has multiple endings the fight could go a lot of different ways.

The White Queen and White Rabbit! You guys kept telling me you wanted to see more of the other characters from HABROMANIA, and I’m a provider, baby. Here’s another animation, this time featuring the world’s most ditzy, airheaded ruler and her very, very stressed advisor/assistant/judge/treasurer/secretary/diplomat Rabbit! They’re characters from my Alice in Wonderland Indie Game HABROMANIA (me and @cinnadrops are currently working on a demo!) and it was such a blast to finally animate them.

The White Kingdom is a lawless place, as their queen hasn’t left her tower since the Queen of Hearts came into power. Unfortunately, WQ's ineptness at ruling means all her responsibilities fall to the Rabbit, who is so overburdened he’s about one minor inconvenience away from a complete nervous breakdown. He certainly doesn’t have the time to help Alice with the Hatter’s trial. The player’s going to have their work cut out for them to convince him to leave the White Kingdom before the Queen of Hearts uses Hatter’s neck as a chopping board.

When she’s not executing innocent civilians, on a vengeful rampage, or plotting her revenge against the hatter, The Queen of Hearts enjoys reading her trashy romance novels in her underwear with a cup of rose tea and a cherry tart with cream. She just like me for real for real. Really enjoyed working on this piece and the rich reds + lighting. But I enjoy working on any piece with my girl Cordelia in it.

I’ve said this in a previous post, but I love the idea of Cordelia being hyped up to be the Big Bad of HABROMANIA (the alice in wonderland indie game i’m working on which this clip is inspired by!) only to finally get to the palace and she’s just this bad-tempered girl who want to read her $mut novels in peace. But fr- Cordelia is my favorite HABROMANIA character so far, partly because I love tragic villians, and partly because I love exploring female rage and horror. DRINK ME - Because curiosity killed the cat. Alice has always been dangerously inquisitive and maybe a little reckless. It's her greatest strength and a weakness that might just get her into trouble during her adventures. She probably shouldn't drink mystery juice she finds in the bottom of a hole, but- yknow. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger and all that.

Here's a little illustration of Alice from HABROMANIA, my Alice in Wonderland Indie game (you can check out more about it on my page). Couldn't decide if I prefer the first slide or the second, so I just included both. I think the 2nd one might suggest she was tripping, which doesn't fit into this story. Alice isn't on anything in the story- she's just made some bad decisions and gotten herself stuck in Wonderland (which is a real place- I hate the whole "and it was just a dream" or "she was just zooted and imagined the whole thing" shit). BAD ENDING - Animated a little snippet from one of the possible endings of HABROMANIA, the Alice in Wonderland Indie Game I'm working on (currently in progress on the demo with a team of programmers, animators, and artists!).
During her adventures, Alice can learn a lot about herself and about the history of the Rosewell Institute. It's very hush-hush, but she's heard rumors that about a decade before, there was an incident where two residents tried to escape and ended up causing a bloodbath. Alice doesn't know if those residents ever actually made it out. All she knows is that she is getting tf out of the institute. No matter the cost.

Alice has always been a little eccentric, even as a little girl. She would talk to herself a lot and was an endlessly deep well of questions, much to her parent's chagrin. She has an adventurous spirit and an innate curiosity that always seems to get her into trouble. She shouldn't have drunk whatever was in that bottle, but it's too late to go back now. All she can do is keep moving forward. Which she's fine with, as she's not particularly interested in revisiting the past. She has a feeling she's not going to like what she finds there.

I had such a fun time working on this piece! I love playing with high contrast imagery and I think this really fits the vibe of the game (if you're just finding me, habromania is the alice in wonderland indie game me and a team of devs/artists are working on rn, check out my page for more). Alice and Cordelia in a slightly more rendered art style! I love these two and trying to give them distinct features and appearances while maintaining stylistic cohesion. Alice is taller, pretty lean, and has a lot of long and bell shapes in her look. Cordelia (the queen of hearts) is a lot curvier and is made up of very soft lines, contrasted with a few super harsh angles (reminiscent of a severed limb or head). Her face is also a lot more bunched up and reminiscent of a cat, while Alice's features look a bit more like a rabbit... hm. Anyway SO sorry for the two week break in posting- college has started up again and I have been so busy getting back into thinks. But I have a lot of WIPs so I'm working on getting those finished up and posted here. ❤PAINTING THE ROSES RED ❤ - Tried my hand at painting Cordelia (the Queen of Hearts From HABROMANIA, The Alice in Wonderland Indie Game I'm working on!) after her possible defeat at Alice's hand at the end of the game. Another HABROMANIA (my Alice in Wonderland Indie game) animation! Here's Alice chasing after a white rabbit. She keeps catching glimpses of it but it's always just out of reach. It's haunting her, in a way. The white rabbit is a ghost of a memory, and she has this awful, sneaking suspicion that however she ended up in Wonderland has something to do with it.

She can't remember anything before falling into Wonderland (which she blames on hitting her head too hard), and her past is little more than colorful smudges in her mind. She keeps getting these migraines, though, where she catches glimpses of flashing police lights and feels her hands slippery with something red and too-warm as she cradles someone in her arms on the side of a road...

ALICE NEW IDLE ANIMATION and the comparison with the last two idle animations of her I've made! I definitely have learned restraint when it comes to breathing animations and having the movements be much more subtle. Swipe to see the turn-around animation I've made using Alice's new and improved design! She looks pretty much the same, except I've added a tear-drop mole, shortened her hair a bit (so you can see her apron bow when she turns around), and given her a little more bouncy, sharp playfulness to her hair. Super, super excited that production is moving along! We're still looking to fill a few more roles, so if you applied but haven't received an email (specifically for the composer and sound designer roles) you might get one in the next few weeks! Also, we will eventually need a voice actor for the Cheshire Cat, who will be the only speaking role in the game! The voice I imagine for him is the narrator from the "don't you want to be a cult leader?" audio that was going around and is on youtube. Kind of a very neutral, friendly, old-timey sort of voice. Stay tuned for casting calls for that!

???? ????? ??? ????? ❤️ Here's a portrait of Cordelia, the future Queen of Hearts from HABROMANIA, the Alice in Wonderland Indie game that is about to begin production!!! We're finalizing hiring at the moment- there ended up being 220+ applications and while we were originally only going to have a team of maybe 5, we've expanded the scope of the project to have a team of about 15 artists, animators, programmers, and composers. I'm literally so excited, you have NO idea. So far, the people we've picked are all INCREDIBLY talented and have a real passion for this project, and I'm so thrilled to have the opportunity to bring this concept to life with them.

Had a LOT of fun with this portrait. Cordelia is my favorite character in this concept, both design and personality wise. I love scary vengeful brides and wanted to prepare for October with a haunting kind of portrait of my favorite busty lady. I also love painting red hair. She's giving vampire or ghost or something here, which is fun- she's very cool toned, and trying to incorporate that while also having the piece itself exude warmth and richness was a fun challenge. I also really like combining my simple art style with a more detailed painting technique. Ah, women.

IT’S FINALLY TIME: We’re finally assembling a team of collaborators to work on an official HABROMANIA demo! HABROMANIA is an offbeat, unsettlingly charming, narrative rich point-and-click game inspired by Alice in Wonderland. It follows 19-year-old, perpetually curious Alice as she tumbles headfirst into Wonderland and must outwit, outmatch, and maybe even befriend the mildly psychotic people and creatures she encounters as she tries to return to the outside before she loses what little sanity she had to begin with. This post is an official call for any interested parties to apply to join the team and help bring HABROMANIA to life.

The bones of the game have already been programmed in Godot by the very talented @cinnadrops, and we’re now ready to take the next steps to make HABROMANIA a playable reality! The goal is to get a small team of volunteer animators, artists, programmers, and sound designers together to work on this project, which we’ll hopefully use to fund production on a full-length game through Kickstarter. Descriptions for each role we’re looking to fill are on the next few slides, so if you’re interested, use the link in my bio to find the form where you can officially apply! There are no prerequisites except that you’re at least 18 years old (for legal reasons) and have a portfolio of relevant work for job you're applying for. HABROMANIA animation work in progress (sound on)! Here's a little clip of Alice I'm working on using audio from the Disney movie. I adore her voice actress and her trans-Atlantic rambling as she talks to herself. For those of you who don't know, HABROMANIA is the name of the Alice in Wonderland Indie Game concept I've been working on! Think of like, fran bow mixed with undertale mixed with don't starve and you're kind of there! Like a point-and-click, choice based game where you play as Alice, who wakes up in Wonderland and has to figure out how to escape.

Habromania means "delusions of happiness," by the way. I wanted to do something alice and wonderland-ish but all those names were kinda already taken, and I think HABROMANIA fits very well with the vaguly nostagic, over the garden wall creepy but cozy kinda vibes I'm going for!

Here's Alice in a slightly different style than she appears in my Alice in Wonderland Indie game (concept)! Swipe to see her in-game appearance + a walk cycle that took me too long. I've been thinking a lot about her character and the arc she'll go through over the course of the story. I really enjoy the very simple art style I've been using for my Alice Indie Game concept (which I've decided to name HABROMANIA, which means delusions of happiness), but I also had a lot of fun translating her very stylized design into something a bit more realistic! Realistic by my standards, at least.

Also- I have decided that I'm going to officially put out a call for volunteers to join me in making a demo for the game, which we can hopefully use to kickstart this game and get it fully produced! (Sound on!) Here's another glimpse into Charlie and Cordelia's life at the institute before everything went horrible between them (like axe murderer horrible).
Later on, they'll become the Queen of Hearts and the Hatter from my Alice in Wonderland Indie Game concept, but for now they're just Cordelia and Charlie.

You can check out my page to learn more about the story, but basically, Cordelia's ridiculously rich father bought the whole institute after she killed her almost 50 yr old husband on their wedding night (in self defense, but still). She's pampered and treated like a princess but is basically locked away and very much a prisoner, and she is NOT happy about it. Her only friend is Charlie O'Hare, who landed in the institute after his older brother (and co-owner of the O'Hare Habadashery) died abruptly, which sent the already fragile and often manic Charlie spiraling.
.
Anyway, these two are my favorite characters, and I really enjoyed making Hatter inappropriately chatty and ramble-y and offputting here. I figure in the game that he'll have like, endless dialogue, which the player will either find endearing or probably make them rage quit. Another animation of Cordelia (the queen of hearts from my Alice in Wonderland Indie game concept), except this one is a little more peaceful and less horrific than the last! Even though the game is off-putting and has pretty morbid elements, I want the vibes to be more like Over the Garden Wall or very old disney movies, where things were kind of uncanny and yet still somehow peaceful and serene. Like you're nostalgic for something you never actually experienced. I really enjoyed making this one. It's fun to draw Cordelia before she went totally heartless and dictator-y. You can check out more Alice in Wonderland Indie Game stuff on my page for more context and backstory, but basically, Cordelia was institutionalized by her father after she killed her husband on their wedding night (in self-defense- he was twice her age and tried to get on top of her on their honeymoon, and she panicked). She's had a lot go wrong in her life and it's very unfair, so it makes sense she would snap one day. And snap she does! She's the main antagonist in the game, and is pretty keyed up to take out her rage on whoever's within range of her hatchet. I love her.

Another Alice animation from my Alice in Wonderland Indie Game (concept)! I had a lot of fun with this one, but it was also SUPER frustrating. Pretty happy with how it turned out, though! All the little decorations and food stuffs on the table took forever, and cropping/editing this was a btch, but i like the overall vibe and late afternoon atmosphere. I think I’m getting better at animating- if you’ve been keeping up with all the Alice content I’ve been posting, you can see I think I’m a bit better at timing/breathing animations! This pic is low-key inspired by that one popular Kiki’s delivery service screenshot (which also inspired my profile pic). I think it just has really nice cozy vibes, which I need, because I’ve been pretty sick all week. Like brainfog, sore throat, congestion, tiredness… it’s great. Alice survives her thousand feet plumment into Wonderland, landing on a meticulously prepared tea table set for six. When she wakes up she's justifiably confused about both where she is and how on earth she didn't go ker-splat and die. Luckily, the Cheshire Cat is there to greet her and explain things, although he isn't exactly the most forthright ally to have. This would be the very beginning of the game- the player takes control of Alice by waking her up and explores this little room/cave she's landed in, with the Cheshire Cat acting as a tutorial guide to help the player figure out the game mechanic (shrinking/growing through food, inspecting things, perhaps some combat system where Alice fights some rats when she shrinks down?). It'll be fun.

Here’s a little glimpse of Cordelia and Charlie ( The Queen of Hearts and the Mad Hatter in my Alice In Wonderland Indie game concept) from their time together at the Rosewell Institution before they landed in Wonderland. I originally had no plans for the two of them to have any real relationship when i started writing the story for the game, but their relationship just sort of fell into place and is actually the catalyst for most of the plot of the game.

Cordelia is kind of a brat- incredibly headstrong, stubborn, with a bad temper and loud opinions, whereas Charlie is fast-talking, neurotic, paranoid eccentric and drama queen. But they clicked anyway, because Charlie is the only person who takes her seriously and doesn’t write her off as crazy or hysterical, and Cordelia is the only person (aside from Charlie’s dead brother) who can put up with his oddity and fits of mania. In Wonderland, however, their relationship has changed, and Cordelia (as the Queen of Hearts) hates Hatter more than anything. I’m a firm believer in that hatred that strong has to stem from a place of love to begin with. Seeing as Cordelia had such a shitty expereince with most people, the betrayal of Hatter, who she actually trusted, was enough to turn her into the monster Alice eventually meets. Meanwhile, the breakup’s done a number on Hatter, too, who’s completely isolated himself and refuses to leave his tea party and face the “real” world of Wonderland, preferring to pretend nothing happened at all and getting incredibly agitated if the Queen is mentioned. The player as Alice might be able to get the two of them to make up, but it’s going to be TOUGH. Maybe tougher than even escaping Wonderland.

Here's Cordelia Rosewell (the future Queen of Hearts from my Alice in Wonderland Indie Game concept) on her ill-fated wedding night! Y'all kept saying her story sounded like a DLC and It got me thinking more about her backstory. Also, I've been listening to MCR's "To the End" on loop and it got me inspired.

Cordelia was forced to marry her father's business partner when she turned 18. The man was in his 40s and while she protested, she had no choice in the matter. On their wedding night, when he demands she performs her "wifely duties", she panics and tries to get him off of her. It turns violent, and she ends up killing him. While horrified, Cordelia's father didn't want his beloved little girl to be hung for the murder and used his powers to convince the judge to declare Cordelia insane and send her to an asylum, instead. He purchases an asylum for the criminally insane and renovates it into a very cushy rehab/ psych ward for rich people to send their family screw-ups. Years later, Alice will be sent to the institute, and fall into wonderland one night when she tries to escape.

(SOUND ON!) Here are Alice's idle animations in her different outfits for the Alice in Wonderland Indie Game (concept) I'm working on! This took.... longer than I want to admit. But I really enjoyed doing it! I love drawing Alice- she's all bell shapes and very round and poofy, which is fun to play around with in animation. I want the game to be uncanny and a little unnerving, but not necessarily "horror", if that makes sense. Like Over the Garden Wall vibes, sort of. Cozy and nice but also kind of creepy, like how liminal spaces are nostalgic and yet fill you with dread. Another ALICE IN WONDERLAND the Indie Game (concept) animation of poor Alice taking a lil tumble into purgatory. This animation was about 7 GB when I finished with it and took forever (and my computer crashed 4 times in total while making it!) but I like how it turned out I think! I really have enjoyed making all these animations. They're great for learning, as I don't have any formal animation training. Here's Hatter's character sheet from the Alice in Wonderland Indie Game concept I'm working on! Hatter was difficult for me to design, but I'm pretty happy with how he turned out! I want him to look like a nervous wreck who still chats your ear off like he's getting paid to do it. In the game, the Hatter becomes a companion character for Alice (the player) after the tea party, and I can imagine all the endless dialogue that will add to the gameplay. Usually, dialogue boxes will only appear when Alice interacts with a character or inspects an object, or an event is happening, but I think when she's traveling with Hatter the speech box will just always be there as he rants and goes through story after story and observation after observation. He's fun. You're either gonna love him or want to strangle him with your bare hands. As requested, here are the Alice in Wonderland Indie Game (concept) creatures! Or some of the main ones, at least. There will be lots of other little animals and monsters the player as Alice can interact with, including living chess pieces, cards, a little mice village, rat bandits, and homicidal flowers, but these are the main creature character designs! I mostly draw people, but I had a lot of fun working on these non-human designs. AKA sydney just discovered the symmetry tool in Krita and can't stop using it. But I really do love drawing Alice, and the different outfits she wears. Alice would be the player character in the game, and the choices you make as her would directly relate to which of the 4 endings you would get.
For those who ask in the AiW q/a on my story, while I do hope to make this an actual, Undertale/Fran Bow style game in the future, for now it's just a concept while I try and get some developers to join the project! But I really do think that one day this will be playable. I'm gonna keep pushing towards it, for sure.

A complete character breakdown of The Queen of Hearts from the Alice in Wonderland indie game concept I've been working on. Swipe to read her story! I told y'all that this was just a concept- like a fun idea for an imaginary game- but I mean it when I say that I can't get this story out of my head. I have the whole story figured out, with different gameplay elements and stuff- I just need to get it coded and playable! Unfortunately, I don't have the talent to do it all by myself, so I'll need to find a studio or some people willing to work on the project with me (you all have been awesome with reaching out to offer up your contributions- I've had some people comment saying they can help with sound design and other elements, which is so cool). I'm not saying it will happen soon, but I'm telling you- I'm gonna do everything in my power to eventually make this concept a reality.
The Queen of Hearts is the primary antagonist (on the surface, at least) of the story, and I absolutely adore drawing her. I enjoy playing with shapes in her design for each main "act" in the story. Alice is up next!

Drawing my portrait of Alice inspired me to do one for the Queen of Hearts, too! Swipe to see her simplified, in-game sprite design. During the whole first half of the game, Alice (the player) will keep hearing about the queen and seeing her scary throne-room full-queen regalia image everywhere on propaganda posters plastered up all over Wonderland. But when Alice finally meets the queen, she's not wearing her gown or crown- she's in her nightgown and looks more like a surly, bad-tempered teenager than a homicidal dictator. Like Alice, the Queen once lived at the psych ward of the hospital before she made it into Wonderland. Since then, though, she's become heartless. Hopefully, things will turn out better for Alice then they did for Queenie.

Swipe to see portraits of Alice and her spite, as well as her look for one of the endings I have in mind for the game (which is still just a concept for now, though one day I really do hope to get it made into some sort of RPG in the vein of fran bow or undertale or something). In this ending, Alice is able to get out of Wonderland... but ends up right back in the "hospital", scheduled for a lobotomy the next morning. With some help from the Cheshire Cat and the Queen's beloved hatchet, Alice can escape, though at a cost.

A return to my Alice in Wonderland indie game concept art with a stylized Alice portrait! It's such a departure from my usual Alice in wonderland style- see the second slide for reference- but I had a lot of fun with it! THE WHITE QUEEN from the Alice in Wonderland Indie game (concept) I'm working on, as represented by the High Priestess tarot card! The High Priestess symbolizes sacred wisdom, purity, divine feminity, intuition, and understanding. She also represents a withdrawal from reality, ignorance, and passivity. The White Queen was once a benevolent and wise (if slightly aloof) leader of her kingdom, but ever since the Queen of Hearts chopped off her head, she's a ghost of her former self. She's ditsy, foolish, and never leaves her (literal) Ivory tower. Her kingdom has since fallen into disrepair and lawlessness, all the while she mindlessly floats around her castle, blissfully unaware of the chaos around her.

HATTER from the Alice in Wonderland indie game (concept) I'm working on, as represented by The Magician Tarot Card! In Tarot, The Magician represents skill, dexterity, creation, resourcefulness, and the potential that comes with it. It's also associated with illusion, wasted potential, and a lack of mental clarity. The Hatter's a man of (literally) many hats and talents, though he's become complacent in his life- he refuses to leave his never-ending tea time and face reality. It'll be up to Alice to see if she can convince him there are things in life that are worth the risk.

ALICE in Wonderland the indie game-inspired Tarot Cards! The Fool symbolizes new beginnings and adventure ahead. The Fool is associated with innocence, freedom, youth, idealism, foolishness, and naivety. The Fool blindly ventures forward, unaware of the dangers ahead. The number 0 means that it can be placed at either the beginning or the end of the major arcana cards- after all, to start a new life, an old one has to end, first.

I always liked the Cheshire Cat. Even in the original novel, he stood out. He was the only real ally to Alice- she even calls him her friend at a point, which she doesn't call anyone else in the novel. I think there's also something a little off-putting about his forever-grin- you never know what's so funny to him. Makes you wonder if the joke is on you. You can check out my other posts for more info about him (and Alice + the other characters) on my page. I had a fun time designing him + picking the colors. I wanted his little bowtie to match Alice's outfit as a nod to their connection, with orange symbolizing caution or a warning. He's cute.
Also, do y'all have any suggestions for names for the game? Because Alice In Wonderland is a bit too obvious I think. Lmk.

ALICE character model from the Alice in Wonderland Indie Game (concept) I'm working on! Which character would you want me to model next? Swipe to see some other Alice drawings I made + a sneak peak of a cover for Chapter two: The Garden. I remember as a child being slightly disturbed by the disney Alice in wonderland, more so then any other Alice in wonderland creepy stories (like the tim burton live action version). I think there's something uncanny and a little off-putting about the original animated movie... it's serving backrooms energy, like a dream you want to wake up from. Anyway, I want to capture a little of of that creepy uncanny valley-ness without going for a horrific art style.
While I think the story I wrote for this would be best fit for an undertale/fran bow style game, it could also be a webcomic or graphic novel (once I finish my other webcomic, LOVEBITES). Though I would really very much like to make it an actual game. We'll see how things go!

CHAPTER ONE of the Alice in Wonderland Indie game because I literally CAN'T STOP THINKING ABOUT IT, even though it doesn't exist. (yet?) The game would be 10 chapters long and follow the player, as Alice, as she tries to make her way out of wonderland. Very much undertale/franbow/don't starve vibes. Anyway you can check out my account to see the characters and animation snippets I've been messing around with since the idea came to me.
Chapter 1 would begin with Alice falling into the rabbit hole, with the Cheshire Cat there to greet her. Alice asks him where she is, and more importantly, how she can leave. The cat replies the way out is the opposite of whatever the way in is, which isn't very helpful. But the Cat helps teach Alice (and the player) the game mechanics and introduce the plot. Here's a post-Christmas ALICE IN WONDERLAND the indie game animation! (Sound on!) This one took way longer than I thought but I had a lot of fun with it! You can check out the other Alice in wonderland animations I've made on my page, as well as character designs/descriptions of the other characters (like hatter, the queen of hearts, the white rabbit, alice, and cheshire). Swipe to see my design for the March Hare! I was thinking he could be like the mini-boss and main obstacle of the "Tea party" section of the game- he doesn't want Alice to take the Hatter away, and the player as Alice can choose to either get him to trust her through really complicated and difficult means, or just straight up kill him.
I've been working on the plot for this story and got super into it. I've got 10 "acts" (or levels, or chapters- Idk what you would call it) all written down. I'm thinking of a few different endings, most of which are super dark. Would you guys want me to share it somewhere? And if so, in what format? Let me know and comment if you have any ideas/feedback!

ALICE IN WONDERLAND the indie game animation snippet! This is my first ever fully-animated fully colored little project and I'm really happy with how it turned out! I've never animated a walk cycle before but had a lot of fun with it and Alice's floofy little dress. Also the cat is such a little man. I've been thinking about levels for the game and wanted to mess around with some backgrounds and atmosphere and I was thinking a 'woods' level would be pretty cool. Lemme know if you have other suggestions!

ALICE IN WONDERLAND the indie rpg characters! I posted about this a while back but I can't stop thinking about it for real... also I thought Alice and Hatter needed a bit of a redraw, and Queen needed an alt outfit because she's my favorite character out of the bunch to draw. Also I drew the Cheshire Cat for the first time! I feel like he would be a great tutorial character who teaches the player (Alice) game mechanics n stuff... I imagine this as like an undertale/franbow/don't stave/ommori sort of game with a lot of branching endings. I've already worked out the main story on a google doc because I have no self control, but it's still a wip, so if you have suggestions give em here! This is just a fun thing I'm working on right now, but in all seriousness eventually I might actually want to make this a real thing. I just can't shake the idea... so Idk if ur a game dev looking for a new idea or artist hit me up! Until then I'm just gonna keep making art like a maniac.

God it's nice to draw again. I've had finals and I literally haven't been able to touch my drawing tablet in a full two weeks. So ridiculously stressful. That's also why I haven't been able to post for 2 weeks- everything's just been hellish with schoolwork I just haven't been able to draw anything to post. BUT as of yesterday I'm officially DONE with uni for the semester so LOTS of art coming soon! Thanks for your patience!

Really enjoyed playing with shape and character for the queens. The silhouette of the White Queen is inspired by an actual Queen Chess piece. She’s kinda other-worldly and a little distant, so I used a lot of very long lines to try and make her look both wispy and very tall, like a goddess or something. The Queen of Hearts, on the other hand, uses a lot of round, poofy shapes and is much less elegant and more baroque/girlish/snooty. I tried to use a lot of heart shapes and softer curves in her design to contrast with the White Queen. Except of course for the very sharp, very blunt line of the hem of her skirt, which i wanted to look like got hacked clean off.
Oh man I can’t stop thinking about actually making this into a real video game. I was on a plane yesterday and I spent the whole time plotting out a story for this and I’m actually a little surprised at how happy I am with what I came up with. Once my webtoon is all finished I might actually want to start working on getting this made… so Idk if ur a game dev looking for a new idea or artist hit me up! In the meantime I’ll be making some more illustrations!

So I was doodling Alice in class and suddenly I Couldn't get the idea of an Alice and Wonderland rpg out of my head with a undertale/fran bow esque playstyle but with way more branching endings depending on your actions-diologue choices. Had a BLAST designing these guys. After my recent complete laptop failure and all my digital art in peril, I had a hard time getting back into drawing, but this idea's got me all worked up artistically now. I'll post the Queen of Hearts and White Queen tomorrow- I'm really excited with how their design is coming along!
